Dandy always tells me he wants to be a chef when he grows up so we read this and tried the recipe at the end for some griddle cake funsies. I'll not be attempting Julia Child's classic first book anytime soon as much as I enjoyed the movie about her.
I'm working on my Vegas post...still (and trying to make shorter blog posts as well) so I'll see you soon!

Already posted on your facebook page but that is still to funny! 1998...just a little out of date! Ha-ha-ha! :-)
So you don't do much baking in your house, huh? Maybe Dandy can save his allowance and splurge on a new can for you! Such a funny video!
That's classic! so, you don't bake alot, huh?
Life lesson learned!
btw, I just through away a tub of sour cream that expired 11 months ago. It must've been pretty soured!
Happy Cooking/Baking!
OMG I'm actually watching an old Julia Child episode on PBS and I muted that to watch your video and you do a SPOT ON impression of the great Julia! (Wasn't the movie such fun?!) This is a brilliant video, and I was glad you figured out the reason for the food failure. It's not you, it's your Clabber Girl! I'll be watching this over and over, whenever I need a good laugh.
More "Simple Cooking Failures" pleeeeeease. Jon and I are rolling, simply rolling!
You don't have enough material for more Simple Kitchen Failures, you are too much master chef! :) "And now you're this tall..." ha ha
Bekah, Kim, and Cari: I can't think of the last time I needed baking powder(obviously). ;) Does it go in cake maybe. I use box mixes if I ever make cakes I guess. I DO make cookies and such but they only ever seem to call for soda so...huh. The "crepes" seemed to taste ok though. Baha
Katie, I didn't realize they still played Julia on PBS! I'll have to look for that. I have been meaning to look her up on Youtube since I saw the movie. I've always liked her. I'm glad you liked my version. She sort of comes and goes in the kitchen. :D
Joy and John: You know I have certainly had some hit and misses over the years. I'm sure I'd have more hits if I hit the kitchen more often. ;) I giggled imagining you two watching it together. Teehee!
J: Aw shucks. That's sure sweet of yeh. I should post about the tortilla soup since I managed to copy it pretty well. It's funner to fail sometimes though-don'tcha know.
Such folly.
Love it.
Ah, those years in broadcasting really paid off. Great job, "Shania."
That was hilarious!!!! My whole family watched it ..... three times!!!
Oh, hee hee hee hee hee, Shan!
I am going to be laughing all week.
You have an awesome future on TV, young lady.
Oh, Shan! This is soo funny. You are one fun mmom.
I love thin pancakes. And I have to admit I have some out-of-date ingredients in my own cabinet.
One year, my daughter got mad at me and put a blue X on everything in the pantry just for spite. Years later, she was shocked to see some of that Blue X stuff in there.
lol! fun!
(and shan, could you please shoot me an email? i have lost your address by accident! I have a "private" post to email you!)
