A partisan guest post

I think since we are getting so close to the election, I'm going to feature my dear friend Becky's blog today.  I tend more toward flibbity fluff when I open my mouth to communicate my feelings.  And I find it extremely hard not to be silly and light-hearted when safely inside Shansland, because that is my default modus operandito.

So, rather than try to express it in my words, I'll link her recent post here and you can take it as my shared (though much better spoken and thought out) opinion.  Or, this is perhaps where you'll want to quickly look away as to not chance getting frothy at the mouth. That being said, I'll now direct you to my favorite English professor and bosom friend Becky, of Pith, Marrow, and Coffee Spoons:

Well, you know how I feel, but I do love a reasonable discourse. I have the utmost respect for people who put there opinions out there in such well-thought-out ways. It's the people who shout and call names with complete disregard for debate and freedom for us all to make our own choices. We seem to have lost the ability to respect one another opinions. It's a pity.

Well shucks, Shan. Thanks for the vote o' confidence and solidarity. Great minds thinking alike, and all that.

Air-kissing abounds . . .

I like that about you Robyn. :) And I like the way you present your viewpoints also.

Yes, Bleu. Great minds do, but my mind may not exactly fall into that category. It takes in information, forms an opinion, and then promptly forgets how it got there. At least I know I can call you in for proper regurgitation on these types of issues. ;)

Shan, you seem to have a very good buddy in Becky but I do think the healthcare system could use some revising, from the accounts of it that we see here. I'm not really in a position to comment though and I don't get a vote. :)

Hi Mme, Yes, our insurance companies make things extremely difficult to get good coverage but I just want no part in having the government totally take healthcare over. If you could see the way our government handles its other programs you might agree. Perhaps we could use some intervention but not in the form of socializing it. And I know people don't agree with that but Obama seems to have a strong leaning toward Socialism which I don't think works in practice. Of course, that is my view. I know it's not yours but I do respect your opinions and viewpoint. xo

you and i disagree politically, sugar, but as robyn said, your civility and respect for differences is what i most admire about you! people seem to forget that our declaration of independence and our constitution were written to make sure we could disagree with each other (and our government) and still drink tea after a discussion! ;)
